Designed to Protect You & Your Family,

Not Just Your HVAC System

If you’re like most homeowners, you stop by a local hardware store every few months, look at all the filter choices, get frustrated deciding what to buy, and wind up spending $2-$3 on a “throw-away” replacement air filter. When you do this year after year for 20 years, you spend nearly $250.  For that $250 “investment” you receive a minimal level of protection for your HVAC unit that does nothing to improve the air you and your family breathe every day. There’s a better way…

In comparison, Air-Care Electrostatic Filters provide unsurpassed protection of your HVAC unit greatly reducing yearly maintenance and repair costs.  More importantly, Air-Care Electrostatic Filters significantly improve indoor air quality by removing aggravating contaminants such as household dust, pollen, and pet dander from the air you breathe. Cleaning is a breeze and under normal circumstances your Air-Care Filter only needs attention every six months.  With a Lifetime Warranty, an Air-Care Electrostatic Filter may be the last air filter you ever buy!

Let’s Look at MERV ratings
Most filters are labeled with a MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) rating number, which measures a filter's ability to trap particles ranging in size from 3.0 microns to 10.0 microns. MERV is an industry standard rating, so it can be used to compare filters made by different companies. However, the MERV rating is not intended to be the sole basis for deciding which filter to buy, just as the horsepower of a car engine is not the only criteria in buying a car.

Residential filters commonly have MERV ratings of 1-12. The higher the MERV rating, the more efficient the filter and the more particles it captures. ASHRAE recommends filters designated with a minimum efficiency of MERV 6 or better for use in residential settings.  These “medium efficiency” filters provide a higher removal efficiency than low-efficiency filters and more adequately remove the particles that cause IAQ problems, unlike high-efficiency filters, which clog. This type of filter also is recommended in the EPA's Building Air Quality: A Guide for Building Owners and Facility Managers.

Air-Care Electrostatic Filters start with a MERV 6 and improve to a MERV 8 during use. Designed to “get dirty”, their high loading capacity and low air resistance work together to provide superior filtration without unit strain.
