Typical Cleaning Schedule:
Air-Care Electrostatic Filters load far more than standard “throw-away” filters and require cleaning less often. Under a standard commercial maintenance program, install a pressure gauge on a site’s most active unit and clean all filters when the gauge indicates based on the scientific standard of pressure drop. The target reading for Air-Care 1” Filters to be cleaned is 0.5”wg and for Air-Care 2” Filters is 1.0”wg.
The most efficient method for schools and commercial applications is to utilize a portable vacuum “backpack” system to vacuum each filter in place. This process eliminates the need to physically remove each filter and can significantly reduce the time requirement for remote units. Typical cycles range from 120-180 days. Periodically, each filter should be removed from its rack, vacuumed thoroughly, sprayed with diluted detergent and rinsed gently with a garden hose. Complete removal of all particles through a combination of vacuum and washing with soap and water results in an Air-Care Electrostatic Filter with an original pressure drop. We recommend this more thorough cleaning be done annually.
