Determination of Cleaning Cycle
Optimum filter performance can be obtained by precisely determining the cleaning cycle. We recommend the installation of a pressure gauge on the most active unit at selected facilities. These gauges should be monitored on a monthly basis and the pressure drop recorded. When the pressure drop across the filter approaches 0.5”wg for 1” filters, 1.0”wg for 2” and 4” filters, the filters should be cleaned. Optimizing the cleaning cycle will maximize filtration and minimize HVAC unit loading and subsequent energy consumption.

Through a careful monitoring of pressure drop across the filter, a precise cleaning schedule will be determined to maximize filter performance. Typical cleaning cycles range from 3-6 months. The durable construction of each Air-Care Electrostatic Filter eliminates the risk of filter failure and subsequent filter blow-by that can lead to unit failure. Additionally, due to the materials used in the manufacture of each Air-Care Electrostatic Filter, concerns over mold or mildew build-up on each filter are eliminated.
